License plate

Submitted by Broos on Wednesday, 5 December 2007No Comment

This photo was taken for the second exercise of my photography course, ‘letters and numbers’. The car, a Citroën DS, was parked in the old harbor in Rotterdam, the sky was cloudy and the picture was taken in between showers. The elegant shape and the shining black paint of the car grabbed my attention. The yellow light bulbs add a little color to the image and the old blue and white license plate accentuate the rich history of this wonderful car.

During class we discussed cropping the image even further (I already cropped a little of the top and right side). A tighter crop would have reduced the ‘clutter’ in the right top corner and improved the overall impact of the image.
